AllMusic Review by

Vocalist Faye Carol -- whose often over-the-top singing is a bit of an acquired taste -- is the main star of this CD, but the main reason to acquire it is for the playing of her daughter, pianist Kito Gamble. Gamble has a potentially great future for, although she can swing, her style is also open to the influence of the avant-garde (including Cecil Taylor) and her technique is quite impressive. However, other than in short solos and two instrumental features, she is mostly in a supportive role behind her less memorable mother, who is sincere but often not too subtle on such songs as "Well, You Needn't," "I'm Gonna Do What They Do to Me," and "End of a Love Affair."
