The eighth volume in RCA's Double Features series of reissues of Elvis Presley movie soundtracks was really a triple feature. None of the three films, Flaming Star (1960), Wild in the Country (1961), or Follow That Dream (1962), originally generated a full-length soundtrack album, though the songs "Flaming Star" and "Summer Kisses, Winter Tears" (the latter deleted from the film) from Flaming Star were released on the EP Elvis by Request and Follow That Dream produced a four-song soundtrack EP. This 20-track album reissues that material, along with alternate takes, songs recorded for, but unused in the films, and soundtrack songs that were doled out as single and LP tracks over the years. Producers Ernst Mikael Jorgensen and Roger Semon have performed a valuable service to Presley fans by gathering this material together into a coherent package, even if it is not among Presley's best work.
