AllMusic Review by

The second LP of Dizzy Gillespie broadcasts from early 1951 once again liberally features John Coltrane at the age of 24, four years before he first started recording with Miles Davis. Although Gillespie is clearly the star (he is often in brilliant form), it is fascinating to hear Coltrane this early in his development, sounding like a mixture of Dexter Gordon and Lester Young. This bootlegish set will be hard to find and deserves to be reissued with its counterpart on CD.
