AllMusic Review by

Traditional gospel meets Las Vegas glitz as born-again Glen Campbell meets arranger Marty Paich, a jazzman best known for his work with Mel Torme and Stan Kenton. Most of the songs here--sacred standards such as "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Sweet By and By"--are given rather staid TV variety show treatments.

But Paich indulges his jazz roots on the album's best-known track, the gently swinging "Tall Oak Tree." And fans of Campbell's guitar work will particularly enjoy "Farther Along," where he dispenses down-and-dirty blues licks that are, to say the least, rather startling in such a white bread context.
