Family Circle: Best of the Swing Era is a budget-line collection of early swing and big band hits, such as Glenn Miller's "In the Mood," Tommy Dorsey's "The Music Goes Round and Round" and Benny Goodman's "Stompin' at the Savoy." The compilation isn't effective as an overview of the era, but for budget-minded listeners that only want a handful of hits from the early jazz era, The Best of the Swing Era isn't a bad choice. It's not a great album, but for casual fans, it's a good way to collect this great music.
