AllMusic Review by Scott Yanow

A decent if not overly distinctive swing band who sometimes looks back to the '20s, the Chicago Six are led by bassist Bob Finch (an Abe Lincoln lookalike). The sextet heard on this CD is most notable for including clarinetist Bobby Gordon; also heard from are Tony Ardito on trumpet and clarinet, Dave Murray on trombone and bass clarinet, pianist Jerry Abernathy, and drummer John Hall. The group, a fixture on the trad jazz festival circuit, explores such numbers as "Moten Swing," "Shout 'Em Aunt Tillie," "Bugle Call Rag," "Lester Leaps In," and "I Found a New Baby" with spirit and enthusiasm.
