This EP teams Lida Husik with British ambient/techno producer and musician Beaumont Hannant. It's a pairing that makes perfect sense, given Husik's predilection for open-ended songs built upon slowly undulating textures and minimalist chordal movement. EVENING AT THE GRANGE is similar to Husik's second album, 1992's YOUR BAG. Both contain lengthy individual tracks and an atmospheric bearing. On this release, Husik's vocals and guitar float in and around Hannant's electronic landscapes. On subsequent collaborations, the duo went under the name Husikesque (releasing GREEN BLUE FIRE two years later). EVENING AT THE GRANGE emphasizes Husik's pop song structures and Hannant's strengthening architecture supporting.
