In Latin pop, Emmanuel is the equivalent of an adult contemporary artist. Like albums by Julio Iglesias and Jose Jose, Esta Aventura was recorded with an adult audience in mind. This isn't to say that "Un Loco Mansura, "Quiero Un Beso" and other sleek, romantic material won't appeal to teenagers, but Sony's Latin division had mostly adult Latin audiences in mind and definitely wanted to reach listeners over 25. Though the CD contains some uptempo songs (including "Por Ti" and the Caribbean-influenced "No Vale La Pena"), slow songs are more of a priority. Although not remarkable, most of the material is pleasant and likable. Emmanuel is a very emotional singer, and when it comes to ballads, he isn't afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve.
