The crowded field of Tejano pop has known few more successful or long-lived acts than the legendary Grupo Bryndis, who have been exploring their particular vision since the '80s with consistent aesthetic and commercial success. EN EL IDIOMA DEL AMOR is no exception. As the title indicates, the album is populated by songs dealing with the timeless topic of romance, both happy and unhappy. While the tunes flit back and forth between peppy and contemplative, the instrumental acumen and distinctive vocal harmonies of Grupo Bryndis maintain the listener's attention. As on their past releases, the band takes a somewhat pan-Latin approach to pop, flavoring their music with a variety of ethnic styles, but it always somehow comes out sounding uniquely like Grupo Bryndis.
