AllMusic Review by Dave Thompson

Conflict's first official U.S. release was a 16-song (plus interview) compilation highlighting the best of the band's output since their 1982 debut, The House That Man Built (source of the opening statement of intent, "Conflict"), through to the mid- to late '80s. At its heart, Employing All Means Necessary a reasonably straightforward reflection of the British Standard Issue collection, but a smattering of additional cuts ("Law and Order," "Custom Rock," "The Ungovernable Force") expand the original set considerably. As such, it stands as probably the finest available introduction to the early Conflict, short of picking up the original records.
