From the track titles alone ("Slave to Evil," "Down Where We Belong," "Golgotha"), it's clear that Embryodead isn't a happy pop record. The sub-Skinny Puppy chord progressions don't make for incredibly good songs, but Ratzinger's productions bring a bit more to the table than listeners would expect from this type of industrial-dance record.
