These Prince covers are either too silly or too serious (or both) and most of them are neither goth nor electro. Several tracks on Electro Goth Tribute to Prince originally appeared on Party O' the Times, another Cleopatra compilation released (naturally) in 1999. The combination of contributors will be familiar to anyone who has paid attention to Cleopatra's releases throughout the past several years, with the likes of Information Society, Dead or Alive, Funker Vogt, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, and even Dale Bozzio (credited as "Missing Persons' Dale Bozzio") in on the action. You don't have to be a Prince fan to feel dirty for giving it any attention. Bizarrely enough, one of the better tracks is Rebecca Romijn's "Darling Nikki," produced by now-ex husband John Stamos.
