Linda Ronstadt isn't the only one to listen to Lola Beltran. Mexican rancheras' influence in Tejas has not only been heavy but is still growing. Ramirez used to sing U.S. country music in Spanish. Now she's switched to high-octane rancheras -- but with conjunto backing, not mariachi. This is great stuff, with fine flashy accordion from Raul Ruiz and a lot of rhythmic kick.
