AllMusic Review by

The remarkable Doc Cheatham, two months shy of 87 at the time, leads a fine sextet through a variety of Dixieland and swing numbers on this live set. Clarinetist Sammy Rimington has some good solos; trombonist Jerry Zigmont, pianist Jon Marks and drummer John Russell are competent without leaving much of an impression; and bassist Arvell Shaw is in top form, taking a couple of spirited vocals. However, it is Cheatham who dominates the upbeat performances, which range from "Clarinet Marmalade" and "Pennies From Heaven" to "Ain't Misbehavin"' and "Struttin' With Some Barbecue."
