After working her game for nearly a decade, Yo Yo brings EBONY to the attentions of all the players. Produced by Rashad Smith (Busta Rhymes, Notorious B.I.G., MC Lyte), Ebony is a combination of street funk and R&B textures that that has made Yo Yo a major force in the hip-hop world. The album is hit-packed, with collaborations such as "I Would If I Could," featuring Missy Elliot, "Do You Wanna Ride" featuring R&B newcomer Kelly Price and "Iz It Still All Good," a tribute to hip-hop, which features Yo Yo's labelmate Gerald Levert. "Fantasy", with Lil' Shawn, is a down-and-dirty battle of the sexes.
Other tracks to take notice of are "Good Girl," "Never Gonna Fall Again" and "Let Me Be the One." EBONY shows Yo Yo's maturity and growth as an artist. The success of ladies such as Foxy Brown, Lil' Kim and Charlie Baltimore would have been more difficult to achieve if not for the career-blazing trail that Yo Yo has burned since her debut.
