On her 20th album Tracy Nelson has been nice enough to show you what might have been if Janis Joplin had lived but remained a horrible drunk. The liner notes tell the fascinating tale of why this remarkably bad record was rejected by record label after record label until the artist decided to do you the favor of releasing it herself. Gee thanks. If you love vibrato -- and you better because every song is soaked with it -- this is sure to appeal to you. If you're looking for something a cut above the gang that's appearing at your local Ramada Inn keep searching.
