The fusion of 1990s electronic music with traditional Indian elements hit a high point on Anokha: Soundz of the Asian Underground, but East-Westercism comes close. It provides an innovative sound with not much more than a few samples to make up for the lack of true Indian artists. Artists like Muslimgauze, David Toop, Rick Wilson, and Witchman have already incorporated such elements into their own recordings, so the proposition isn't such a bizarre one. One drawback is the similarity of the material; at least every other contribution simply samples sitar or tabla over a mix of shambling beats.
