This LP from the budget-label Everest is rather brief (under a half-hour) and only gives incomplete personnel and dates but it should not be passed by, for the music is frequently quite unusual. In addition to three conventional trio tracks, the great pianist Earl Hines is featured with an odd group (including violinist Eddie South, organist Bob Wyatt and tenorman Morris Lane) on three tracks from 1947 and with his "New Sound Orchestra" in 1954, a septet full of swing veterans playing quirky head arrangements. It's worth picking up.
