AllMusic Review by

By no means definitive, but by no means worthless, Dynamite Reggae Classics is another mixed-bag triple-disc offering from the Deca Dance label. Like a lot of these sets from the label, it brings the old and the new together for an overview that's good for getting the toes wet; in this case, it's a decent entry route for those who either own Bob Marley's Legend or no reggae whatsoever. From dancehall to roots to rocksteady to ska and most points in between, a lot of flavors are touched upon. Some of the highlights include Ini Kamoze's "Here Comes the Hotstepper," Dawn Penn's "No No No," Jackie Mittoo's "Warlock," Barrington Levy's "Here I Come," Yellowman's "Zungguzungguguzungguzeng," Althea & Donna's "Uptown Top Ranking," and the Skatalites' "Fugitive Dub."
