This CD is essentially a sampler drawn from the many swing-era recordings reissued by the budget Drive Archive label. The sound quality ranges from decent to mediocre although the music (some tracks are more common than others) is generally worthwhile. There is one selection apiece from these teams: Billie Holiday/Stan Getz, Count Basie/Jimmy Rushing, Ella Fitzgerald/Chick Webb, Charlie Parker/Woody Herman (a live version of "Four Brothers"), Dizzy Gillespie/Charlie Parker, Sarah Vaughan/Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong/Fats Waller, Billie Holiday/Duke Ellington (although Duke actually only conducts the backup band), Lionel Hampton/Dinah Washington, Artie Shaw/Mel Torme and Don Byas/Erroll Garner (a hot version of "One O'Clock Jump"). At only a little over a half-hour of music, it is fortunate that this CD is selling at an inexpensive price.
