A release for '60s British "freakbeat" collectors only, as not one of the 14 tracks was even officially released. Taken from demos, acetates, and radio broadcasts, this material is purely of an archival nature. This reissue doesn't pretend to be anything more than that, but even given a heavy interest in British '60s rock, it's not overly impressive. Unknowns such as Spiggy Topes, Marble Greer's Toyshop, and Steam Beating Association did not make music as interesting as their names; what's more, the sound quality of these relics is sometimes muffled. There are a couple of groups with cult reputations--a couple of BBC broadcasts by Tomorrow, and two cuts from the Action's unreleased 1968 LP, by which time they had abandoned mod soul for middling psychedelia.
