Teen pop vocal group Dream Street seems to be built on the notion that if one (Britney, Christina, etc.) is good, many are even better. Towards that end, these boys employ pop hooks that go straight for the jugular; the kind of angular synth riffs and simple, repetitive motifs that made a star out of the aforementioned Ms. Spears are utilized here with a vengeance. But instead of a lone icon around whose voice said accoutrements are applied, Dream Street offers the listener a bevy of young voices that blend seamlessly together with a pure pop egolessness not seen since those long-ago days of Wilson Philips. From the rump-shaking dance floor rhythm of the appropriately titled "Let's Get Funky Tonite" to the it-must-be-love jubliation of the successful single "It Happens Every Time," Dream Street offers the kind of sugary teen pop confection whose chartbound qualities are practically a given.
