AllMusic Review by

With a debut that hinted at their potential, the four-piece Nuclear Valdez returned two years later with Dream Another Dream. Produced by Steve Brown, Dream Another Dream is a more polished affair than their first record, and that polish takes away a bit from the band's charm. However, Froilan Sossa has scaled back the breadth of his lyrics to a more personal level and the songs are more intimate. "The Will" kicks things off with the band's usual sonic crunch churned out by guitarist Jorge Barcala, bassist Juan Diaz, and drummer Robert Slade LeMont. "(Share a Little) Shelter" features Jon Secada lending background vocals on a soaring chorus of the catchy anthem, and they spice things up with horns on the midtempo title track. Like their debut, Dream Another Dream has enough interesting material to retain the listener's attention without quite fulfilling its potential.
