This album no doubt looks appealing, particularly to anyone who's looking for a simple single-disc collection of doo wop classics. But beware -- these songs may be performed by the original artists, but they're not the original recordings, but rather re-recordings. The packaging isn't going to alert you of that since it's fairly deceptive with its "original artists" tag. As with anything released by Madacy, caution needs to be applied since they're a rather mischievous label known for releasing rip-off albums. Sure, there's some value to this album since these are great songs and they do feature some great, albeit elderly, artists. Unfortunately, these re-recordings just don't pack the same nostalgic punch as the original versions, and that's perhaps what's most obvious here.
