AllMusic Review by Neil Z. Yeung

In the same year that saw them perform at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, K-pop boy band EXO scored their first Top 40 hit on the U.S. charts when their fifth album, Don't Mess Up My Tempo (S.M. Entertainment), debuted just outside the Top 20 on the Billboard 200. Featuring saucy lead single "Tempo" and highlights such as "Sign," "Gravity," and "Damage," the sleekly polished pop/dance/R&B hybrid was also notable as the first appearance of solo Chinese member Lay since their 2016 effort For Life.
