Fearless Records' first volume in the Don't Be Scared label compilation series was an exciting blend of previously released songs and rarities which served as a welcome introduction for newcomers and a guilty pleasure for longtime fans who had the chance to nab several unreleased songs on one disc. Unfortunately, the sequel never quite accomplishes the feats its predecessor managed to, instead serving as nothing more than an affordable sampler of the albums already available. Granted there are a few bright spots, as Bigwig and Dynamite Boy offer unreleased tracks and the listener is allowed to sample songs from upcoming Fearless releases, yet it just doesn't settle as well as the first release. The must-have quality of Don't Be Scared, Vol. 1 is non-existent this time around, and volume two could only be recommended to those unfamiliar with the independent punk label.
