Despite his terrific name, Earl Musick plays a rather two-dimensional brand of rock-influenced contemporary country. The crunchy, screaming guitars and basslines sound like some pretty decent mid-'80s bar band rock, while the songs usually revolve around winnin' and losin' and havin' a fine time on a Saturday night. Probably the best thing about this CD is that the booklet smells a lot like cigars.
