DJ's Choice: Graduation 2004 Party Music Review

DJ's Choice: Graduation 2004 Party Music collects graduation and school-themed pop and rock hits, along with a few current hits, all of which appear in re-recorded versions. While most of these new renditions don't hold a candle to the originals ("Hey Ya!" "A Moment Like This" and "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" are apparently especially difficult to re-create), the covers of Steam's "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye," Vitamin C's "Graduation (Friends Forever)" and Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love" are almost passable, even though they wouldn't fool anyone familiar with the real versions of these songs. The most useful track here might be its final one: "Pomp and Circumstance" just might be the song on this CD that graduates will be the happiest to hear.
