AllMusic Review by

The first volume released in Time Life's Disco Fever series, subtitled Boogie Wonderland, features 18 major disco singles, most of which can be found on over 100 other similar compilations. (That's not hyperbole.) In order to pack as many tracks as possible onto the disc, Time Life uses all the radio-edit versions, which are often significantly shorter and inferior to the full album or extended 12" versions. This won't bother casual disco fans who are buying their first compilations, since the disc does wrap up a significant chunk of disco's most popular singles. Highlights include Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman," A Taste of Honey's "Boogie Oogie Oogie," Change's "The Glow of Love" (featuring Luther Vandross), Chic's "Le Freak," and Candi Staton's "Young Hearts Run Free."
