Disco 2000 dates itself with its title and text blurb on the back ("With the new millennium fastly approaching..."), and it doesn't ingratiate itself to anyone by including re-recordings. The disc contains pointless and fruitless remakes from the original artists, such as George McRae with "Rock Your Baby" -- by sounding clumsy and lacking almost all the grace of the original, the version fairly represents the level of quality in most of the other tracks on the disc. The recordings sound cheap, as if they were made in fly-by-night studios, with lacking performances that lead you to envision an in-and-out recording process involving all the groups being lined up and shot through a conveyor belt session. Making matters worse, Bebi Sonni adds a cover of Cher's "Believe" that upends everything else in terms of crass clunkiness.
