This ten-track set not only has a slightly odd title, it also includes a slightly random group of selections, and while it is nice to hear the Glenn Miller Orchestra's "In the Mood," the Duke Ellington Orchestra's "Do Nothin' Till You Hear from Me," and Quincy Jones' "Walkin'," one can't help but wonder exactly what the connection is, especially when one throws B.B. King's big-band jump blues piece "When Love Comes to Town" into the mix. The end result is pleasant enough, but a general lack of contextual focus keeps Digital Big Band Bash! from being particularly compelling as a collection, and it certainly doesn't feel like that big of a bash.
