Though it's just a few miles away from the clubbing haven of Ibiza, Barcelona is also renowned as one of the world capitals for electronic dance, both for its breezy continental house and its more experimental SONAR Festival held every year. As such, the first volume in a new series of compilation/mix albums, Bar de Lune's Destinations du Monde: Barcelona compiles a raft of sleek Latin house productions from all over: New York's Masters at Work (aka River Ocean), Britain's Faze Action, Germany's Fauna Flash, and Italy's Balanco. Though it lacks the drawing power of a name mixer, it does benefit from the same informed taste that made the label's L'Apericlub and After L'Apericlub compilations so enjoyable. The samba remix (by Sao Benitez) of the MAW & Co. classic "Love & Happiness" (by River Ocean) is a big highlight, along with dZihan & Kamien's masterful darkside-groove production "After."
