On Desde el Corazon de Texas, La Tropa F shakes up their conjunto-based sound slightly by recording a country song ("I'll Just Keep Your Picture"), a medley of "Tejano Polkas" and a medley of Spanish standards, "Canciones Alegres." These three diversions are welcome departures from the band's trademark, but their signature conjunto and progressive Tejano does sound particularly good this time around, as the Farias brothers have written five solid new songs (the country and polka cuts are also original compositions). The result is one of the group's finest studio albums.
