AllMusic Review by

For his 41st studio album, 76-year old songwriter Udo Jürgens was able to work with an ensemble of over 100 musicians, partly comprised of members of the Philharmonic Studio Orchestra Berlin, the Pepe Lienhard Orchester, and the Film Orchester Babelsberg. With his co-producer Peter Wagner, the pianist and singer presents 14 tracks (including a new version of his 1967 track "Mein Erster Weg") which feature Jürgens' typical mixture of uptempo songs ("Alles Ist So Easy") and slow ballads ("Liebe Lebt"), socially critical commentary (the title track), and more personal stories ("Oktoberwind," "Am Ufer"). Ganz Normale Wahnsinn reached number three in the German charts and number two in the Austrian charts.
