Once guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Butler became a consistently popular Urban Contemporary artist, he had to concentrate on making hits and let other elements of his music slide. This '90 six-track mini-album featuring Michael Brecker was a chance to go back to the looser, less calculated music he made earlier in his career, and also to display his guitar skills.
