Overall, Del-Fi's version of the girl group sound leans closer to the Shangri-Las and the early Motown side of the equation than the Spector or more well known Brill Building sounds. But this 21-track collection of singles from Bob Keane's various labels truly has its own flavor, and a tasty one at that. With the Chicano trio known as the Sisters establishing the core of this compilation doing the title cut and six others in a East L.A. variant of the formula, noteworthy tracks from Desda (a version of "Splish Splash" that skirts the outer edges of melody), and a 16-year-old Mary Sawrey make this a nice addition to anybody's girl group collection.
