AllMusic Review by

Air Liquide's Cem Oral (aka Jammin' Unit) has pursued the integration of dub with electronic dance styles such as acid and techno since his earliest releases on Structure, Force Inc., and Rising High. Deaf, Dub, and Blind, his debut full-length for Blue Planet (reissued in 1997 by Instinct) is one of his biggest successes. Although archetypal dub elements, such as loping basslines and tons of reverb, are present, so too are more subtle engagements of the style in meter, phrasing, and instrumentation (muted rhythm guitars and chiming percussion pop up in the unlikeliest of places).
