AllMusic Review by

The hauntingly atmospheric Dark Edson Tiger heralds a dramatic departure from Rick Rizzo and Tara Key's respective work in Eleventh Dream Day and Antietam, largely forgoing the noisy guitar squall of both bands to document a series of cinematic instrumentals colored by moody electronics and ghostly strings. Constructed primarily via post, with Rizzo and Key sending tapes back and forth for the other to complete, the disc's eight lengthy songs stake out a wide sonic territory yet maintain a textural unity; although "Low Post Movement in D" calls to mind the expansive guitar rave-ups of old, the remainder of Dark Edson Tiger evokes a far more impressionistic palette, its elegiac beauty suffused with a spectral glow.
