AllMusic Review by

Tony Pastor was one of the most animated personalities of the golden age of big bands. His vocals and sax routines were similar to Louis Prima's. Another similarity to Prima is Pastor's employment of a prominent featured female vocalist. While Prima's was Keely Smith, Pastor had Rosemary Clooney. Dance Parade/Your Dance Date includes 16 tracks originally taken from two 10" discs recorded for Columbia in 1949 and 1950. While this reissue contains some nice versions of the standards "On the Sunny Side of the Street," "Honeysuckle Rose," and "Exactly Like You," it also includes some real dreck like "My Mammy." Rounding out the disc are eight bonus tracks from 1947 and 1948, including one of Clooney's first solo vocal performances on "You Started Something."
