AllMusic Review by

Originally released in 1971 as Tanz der Lemminge, Dance of the Lemmings was the third proper studio affair from brain-boggling Krautrock psych heroes Amon Düül II, and its epic double-album status was by far the definitive moment in the band's acid-damaged early period. Following the equally strong Yeti released just one year prior, Dance of the Lemmings sprawled out over four side-long, suite-like tracks, characterized by uncommon time-signature riffs, a swamp of psychedelic effects, and moments of sitar meeting with bubbling sound effects and blistering explosions of rock power. The album was groundbreaking at the dawn of the '70s, and its influence would be felt for decades to come in the music of new open-minded sonic adventurers.
