The Cama de Gato group can count in their favor the fact that they have survived as an instrumental band in Brazil since 1983, given the unfriendliness of the recording business in that country for that style. Formed by some of the best instrumentalists in Brazil, in this formation the group is Pascoal Meirelles (drums), Mauro Senise (saxes/flutes), Jota Moraes (keyboards/marimba), and Arthur Maia (bass), with the guest Mingo Araújo (percussion).
It is not necessary to point out the group's instrumental competence. They can be expressive in samba grooves or in contemporary ones as well. But the release is not a Brazilian album, nor a jazz one. Inscribed in the instrumental pop category, even at that they excel the average international standard. All comparison must be taken with reservations, but one can think of them in this CD as a Spyro Gyra-inspired Brazilian band.
