This frivolous audiophile release (which, other than on the back cover, substitutes food-related titles for the original song names!) draws its music from the short-lived Skye label. There are four cuts from two of guitarist Gabor Szabo's albums, four from Cal Tjader's Solar Heat LP, and "Red Onions" from a set led by Armando Peraza. The Szabo titles, although sounding mysterious and exotic, have little if anything to do with Cuban music; the guitarist is from Hungary! The brief liner notes talk as much about food as about the performances and do not bother mentioning where these selections came from or who is actually on this CD. Some of the music is actually worthwhile, but why reissue it this silly way?
