Cruella's Favorite Villain Songs Review

by Heather Phares

Cruella's Favorite Villain Songs gathers ten songs by and about Disney's most dastardly villains, as introduced by 101 Dalmatians' queen of mean, Cruella De Vil. Since this is her compilation, naturally Cruella gets three songs about her on the album: 102 Dalmatians' "Cruella" and "I'm Gettin' Good at Being Bad," and 101 Dalmatians' classic "Cruella De Vil." Though she tends to hog the spotlight -- as any villainness worth her salt should -- Cruella's Favorite Villain Songs also features contemporary and classic musical themes and schemes like The Little Mermaid's "Poor Unfortunate Souls," Ursula the Sea Witch's show-stopping number; the sinuously sinister "Siamese Cat Song" from The Lady and the Tramp; and "Oogie Boogie's Song," the theme for The Nightmare Before Christmas' boogeyman. As much fun as this album is, it only whets the appetite for a more complete collection of songs from Disney's villains. Still, Cruella's Favorite Villain Songs is a tremendously entertaining collection of themes for characters you love to hate.
