These Measles could very well be contagious (yuck yuck). They're a Costa Mesa, CA, quartet who allows a '60s farfisa organ, right out of a ? & the Mysterians record, to swirl around and dominate "Crooked Girl" ("she's crooked in all the right places"). And by recording on a Tascam eight-track, they sound pretty vintage as well. Although they're 15 years too late to join the old L.A. paisley underground, the Measles aren't really a retro band anyway, just one who goes back to rock, R&B, and garage roots to play some fun pop. Again, it's a bet they've collected quite a stack of Kinks, Sam the Sham, Raiders, Easybeats, Standells, and/or Count Five records, listening to "The Bump" on the B-side, but that's also fine.
