Sony Music Special Prodcuts' Crazy Country culls ten novelties from Johnny Cash's classic recordings for Columbia Records (with a handful of Mercury cuts thrown in for good measure). Of course, "classic" applies to his stint with Columbia in general, not specifically to these recordings, which even hardcore fans will admit are not among the most essential Cash ever recorded. That said, there are some gems here, such as "A Boy Named Sue" and "Look at Them Beans," but only listeners with a seriously silly sense of humor will find this a must-buy. Even so, fans with a goofy side will find this to be quite a bargain at its budget price.
