AllMusic Review by

Sony Special Products' Country Pop Hits of the '70s contains ten string-drenched, countrypolitain hits from the '70s. The song selection appears to have been made at random, since many of Columbia and Epic's biggest country-pop hits of the decade are missing, but what is here -- including Johnny Cash's "One Piece at a Time," Tammy Wynette's "My Man (Understands)," David Allan Coe's "You Never Even Called Me By My Name," Charlie Rich's "Since I Fell for You," George Jones' "The Door," Moe Bandy's "Here I Am Drunk Again" and Johnny Paycheck's "Mr. Lovemaker" -- is good enough to make this a worthwhile acquisition at its bargain price.
