This compilation is an odd collection of Johnny Cash's early pop and country hits, as well as some of his heavily produced recordings from the 1970s. While Country Music Hall of Fame: 1980 is an accurate overview of certain points in his career, it seems a little scattered and uneven. The recordings themselves are of varying quality and make for an uncomfortable listen. While it is still a Johnny Cash album and can't be all bad, better representations of his career are available.
