AllMusic Review by

This 15-cut set documents Tanya Tucker's long stay at Capitol and Liberty records under Jimmy Bowen from 1986 with the album Girls Like Me through 1997's Complicated, when she finally fell off the charts after a more than 20-year run. Tucker's hits of the period include "Strong Enough to Bend," "Love Me Like You Used To," "One Love at a Time," "San Antonio Stroll," and a fine remake of David Allan Coe's "Would You Lay with Me in a Field of Stone," which she scored a hit with for Columbia in the 1970s. Generally speaking, while Tucker's commercial success with MCA in the early 1980s may have been more pronounced, this material is far more resonant in terms of both content and production, as it showcases the artists returning to her hard country roots far more often. Recommended.
