Corridos Y Canciones is without a doubt one of the more unusual albums released in 2001. The up-tempo, bouncing corrido music on the album is almost overbearingly happy, a trait that is not always true of the genre. But even weirder is the gangsta rap intro to "Pantano de Cocodrilos," featuring gun shots and a frantic phone call that leads to a goofy, accordion-based dance song. There are much better albums that feature corrido; as it stands this is a weird mix that may appeal to fans of the genre, but is not recommended for any other music fan.
