Celso Adolfo is the talented composer of the Milton Nascimento hit "Coração Brasileiro," included in Ânima. Nascimento produced Adolfo's first solo LP, which had all orignals, in 1983; this is the CD reissue. The beautiful "Coração Brasileiro" is included here. The album has a strong Minas Gerais inspiration in the melodies, arrangements, and executions, which sometime evoke folklore, sometime recall the Som Imaginário or Toninho Horta's guitar sound. Nascimento also shares the vocals in "Cão Vadio," and other strong mineiro musicians here are Túlio Mourão, Nivaldo Ornelas (former Som Imaginário member), Uakti's Paulo Santos, and Wagner Tiso (former Som Imaginário leader). Delicate melodies and sensitive lyrics complete the picture of an interesting solo work by a good composer.
